Once you have written down your goal, the most important step in achieving them is to take action, one step at a time. No matter how small the action step is, take it, and keep taking action every day.
Set your own goal - what is it that YOU want to achieve?
Some people feel that goal setting is a waste of time. However, by setting your goal it helps you stay focused on what you want to achieve.
Question: Why do some people accomplish more than in one
week than others do in one year?
Some people do not set a goal because they think they are carved in stone. With goal setting you can adjust your goals, you are not locked into the first thing you write. As you start working towards your goal you may alter your end result When setting your goals, set realistic ones, ones that will make you stretch, but not ones that are out of reach. Ones that are not easily attained, but ones where action plans put in place can be achieved. Visualization is one technique many people use to help them achieve their goal. Sit in a quiet place with no distractions, think about how you will feel once you accomplish your goal, visualize in your mind how things will be different. A goal will give you focus. Once you set your goal you will find you become focused on achieving each action step in attaining your goal. |

more tips on goal setting: Some people set no goals and the result is they have no direction for their life, they let life just unfold. But people with goals, have a direction and their life is one in which they decide on the direction of their life. So set your goals, let life go in the direction you choose.
When you take a trip, you look at a map and determine the best route to get there. Setting a goal is the same thing. You know where you want to go, and once you set your goal, and decide on the action plans needed, you end up getting to where you want to go. Set one goal at a time. As you progress towards that goal you will then believe in the power of setting goals. This tip comes from Benjamin Mays: "The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach." Set your goals that are a stretch but ones that are achievable. Don't set a easy one, but also don't set impossible ones. As Napoleon Hill once said, "Don't wait. The time will never be just right." Set your goals, take action, today, not when you think the time is right.
Rather than setting New Years Resolutions, set your goals, with action plans and deadlines. When faced with challenges and setbacks do not give up on your goal. You may have to adjust some action plans, or, timelines but keep moving towards your goal. Don't be discouraged. As Zig Ziglar once said, "Outstanding people have one thing in common: an absolute sense of mission." Setting your goals gives you that sense of mission. Do your long term goals (5-10 years) fit your short term ones (1-2 years)? Setting a goal in your life can help you achieve all that you dream of. Take your dreams and turn them into a goal, achieve what you are dreaming of. It is possible! Review your written goal every couple of months, document your progress, make changes to your action plans if you are not on track. Visit again as we regular add more tips on goal setting |
